My journey of disappointment - A learning curve

It's been a long time since I have had the opportunity to write. I miss the opportunity to share with you my natural beauty secrets. So, I thought that I would share some additional secrets about my adventures and disappointment with my business. I am sure that at one time or another in life there were disappointments. I am the first to say that it is not easy and I am the first to say that I won't and can't give up on what I truly believe in that is my skin care line.

During this journey, I realized that marketing your product or service to the right people or persons is so important in order for you to succeed. In addition to that, I realized that you can't be desperate for a sale it will never work. And I also know that you are in control to whom you sell and not the other way around. If your potential customer doesn't believe in your product or service than 9 out of 10 that person will not be back. For me, marketing is a huge factor when it comes to my business model.

My line of products are different, I make them in small batches and make them to order. I am a growing small business where I have targeted a certain target area for my organic bath & beauty products. I had to do this because I realized that I couldn't cater everyone. Everyone can't buy or afford my products. I have always said these words. My mantra if you would "I am looking for people who are looking for me" Meaning, I am looking for people who are truly interested in what I have to offer and the benefits that come with it. I have been running into the complete opposite. Now. I am picky with whom I do business with. If you are serious, I will know.

My biggest challenge is when I have to do shows. I do a lot of shows to gain exposure. When you are in a line of business like mine, opportunities come and go. I pick the opportunities that best suit my business needs. But again, it's a learning curve for me. I had the opportunity to do a huge show where I prepared weeks in advance for and was nervous and excited about the opportunity to get exposure for my business. There were vendors in all capacities awaiting the arrival of these guest, so that we could showcase our wares.
Let me just say that it was the most disappointing day ever! When you go out and do shows to there is a 99.9% chance that you may walk away with everything that you brought with you. It's a risk. Being a business owner is a risk. And I continue to learn....

I was afraid for a long time to do another event. The last event that I did freaked me out and I was so disappointed that I refused to do another. But, what I realized is that I have to change my strategy and do something different. I pride myself on being able to customize my products and make them upon request, now when doing a show things will be different. And again I learn...
Each time, that I speak to people about what I do and the benefits of it, I realize that I absolutely love my products and believe in them so much that it is what keeps me moving forward.

As I prepare for my upcoming showcase, I am now better prepared for it. My expectations are to continue to be proud of my product and sell my products and benefits to customers that are truly interested in wanting eco-friendly and environmentally safe products.

Each day I learn.
